In these types of cases, it is extremely important to get an experienced injury lawyer involved as soon as possible. The reason is that evidence needs to be gathered and preserved. At Wilson & Hajek, our personal injury lawyers in Charlottesville work with traffic crash experts and go the scene of an accident to make sure that the facts are determined. All too often, our lawyers are called into a case months or even years after an accident has happened and all we have to rely on is the police report. When there are questions about what happened and who is responsible, the ability of the lawyer to get to the scene quickly and to talk to witnesses early on in the process is invaluable. It is much easier to track down a witness right after an accident has happened. Skid marks and other evidence will still be visible in the days after an accident and such evidence can be useful in determining what happened. For all of these reasons, it is a wise decision to involve an injury lawyer in your accident case.
